O cemu se zapravo radi:
Mitchie obozava da peva i svira gitaru,klavir i bubnjeve.Voli muziku i da pise pesme.U kampu Camp Rock se svakog leta odrzavaju casovi hip-hopa,rocka i pop muzike da bi se svi sto bolje pokazali na zavrsnoj veceri kada se odrzava takmicenje a podednik dobija stipendiju za sledecu godinu u Camp Rocku i pehar.Nazalost,taj kamp se placa a Mitchie nema novca za to.Njenu majku pozivaju da kuva u kampu s obzirom da je kuvarica i ona voli svoju cerku sa sobom na dvonedeljni kamp.Ove godine instruktor plesa ce im biti mega popularna zvezda benda Connect 3,Shane Gray.On misli da je bezvezo da provede svoj odmor u jednom kampu bez obzira na to sto je tamo otkrio svoj talenat.Braca ga izazivaju i on ce morati da ostane tamo i u subotu sa bracom peva na Summer Jamu-danu kada instruktori i pocasni gosti pokazuju sta znaju.Sve devojke iz kampa su lide za njih i on je,prilikom bezanja cuo Michie kako peva i svira njenu pesmu.Zapamtio je i kad je pokusao da vidi ko je,ona je vec otisla.Kasnije Mitchie upoznaje Tess,cerku bogatasa koji poseduje sa prijateljem Camp Rock.Mitchie izmislja da je njena majka poznata u Japanu jer "poseduje"veliki shoping i spa centar da bi usla u Tessino drustvo.Prilikom druzenja Tess otkriva koliko je Mitchie talentovana i plase se da ce ona pobediti na takmicenju pa pokusava da je uplasi kao bi je ubacila u njenu ekipu jer joj je ova godina najbitnije s obzirom na to da pobednik dobija i sansu da snimi CD sa Shanom.U tome uspeva ali vremenom Mitchie uspeva da promeni Shanena u zabavnu osobu i pocinju da se druze u kampu.Tess postaje ljubomorna i odlucava da prati Mitchie.Pritom saznaje da je njena prava majka zapravo kuvarica kampa.Pred Summer Jam,Shane je otpevao pesmu Mitchie koju je posvetio devojci koja je pevala za klavirom ne znajuci da je to ona.Kada se nastup grupe Connect 3 zavrsio,Tess pred svima pokusava pitanjima da natera Mitchie ko je njena majka i uspeva joj.Shane se ljuti na Mitchie jer je mislio da je drugacija od ostalih devojaka iz kampa i misli da je to uradio samo da bi ga prevarila.Caithlyn koja je svo vreme znala istinu pokusava da je zastiti ali jos ne uspeva.Tess dan pred finalno takmicenje prisluskivajuci Shanena kako peva otkriva da je Mitchie devojka koju trazi i podece joj da su ona i Caithlyn ukrale zlatnu narukvicu njene majke i glavni zaduzeni za takmicenje ih nerado izbacuje do kraja takmicenja.
Na veliki dan Tessine prijateljica Peggy i Ella je ispaljuju jer im je dosta naredbi i ona ostaje sama.Connect 3 je ziri i takmicenje pocinje.Prvi su hip-hop & rap ekipa sa pesmom Hata La Vista u kojoj je i Ella.Druga je Tess koja se silno obradovala kad je videla majku u publici jer je ne vidje cesto i nikad ne provodi vreme s njom.U sred pesme,Tessinoj majci zvoni telefon i Tess samo gleda kad ce da zavrsi.Razgovor se oduzuje i Tess besna prekida pesmu plakajuci i draci se na majku.U poslednjem trenutku se pojavljuje Peggy sa pesmom Here I am sama,sa gitarom.Takmicenje se zavrsilo i sudije u na drugom kraju bine.U tom trenutku ulazi Mitchie i govori glavnom zaduzenom da je takmicenje gotovo i da sam moze da peva.Prilikom prvog refrena Shane shvata da je ona "devojka sa glasom" i pred kraj 2 refrena on uzima mikrofon i pocinje da peva njegovu pesmu..Mitchie i Shane se prilikom pevanja pomiruju a Peggy pobedjuje..Oni odlucuju da se "ponovo upoznaju" i pocu ispocetka..Mozda nije osvojila pehar niti stipendiju ali ipak je osvojila najbolje leto koje je ikada imala!
